Course fees are due and payable when enrollment forms are submitted. Course materials will not be ordered or forwarded to the student unless payment is received. Assignment deadlines and test schedules are specific to each course and the student is expected to adhere strictly to them. Exceptions or extensions due to significant extenuating circumstances (e.g., serious illness or death in the family) may be granted by the Registrar in consultation with the faculty facilitator upon written petition by the student.

A student withdrawing from any course during the first two weeks will have no record of the course on his or her transcript. If the student withdraws after the second week but before the midpoint of the course, the grade of W (“Withdrew”) is recorded. A withdrawal after the midpoint will be recorded as WP (“Withdrew—Passing”) or WF (“Withdrew—Failing”).

A student withdrawing from any course during the first two weeks will receive a refund of 50% of only the tuition portion of the course fees. The costs of textbooks and materials included in the course fees vary from course to course and are not refundable. After the second week, no refund is given.

A student wishing to reenroll in a course because of withdrawal or retake a course because of a failing grade has the option of either reenrolling as an independent Home College distance learning student, or reenrolling at the appropriate point in the next certificate cohort cycle. A student with a recorded grade of W or WP may reenroll for an administrative fee of $100.00. The student may retain and reuse the course materials and texts, provided that they are still current for use in the course at the time of reenrollment. Should newer course materials be required, the materials fees applicable at the time of reenrollment will be charged in addition to the reenrollment fee. A student with a recorded grade of F or WF must pay the full course fees applicable at the time of reenrollment, less the costs of materials retained by the student, provided that those texts and materials are still current for use in the course.
